Recommendations
When carboloading:
Before a competition, you should be fully charged with glycogen. This is possible if you complement a well-balanced diet by drinking Vitargo CARBOLOADER during the last days prior to the event.
Recommendation: 1-2 sachets per day, during the last three days before competition. To be drunk between meals. 1 sachet is dissolved in 600-700 mls of water.
When recharging: After a competition or training, you have little or no energy left in your muscles. Now is the time to replenish your supplies.
It is a well known fact that the body’s ability to store glycogen is greatest directly after exertion. With Vitargo (CARBOLOADER or Gainers Gold) straight after competition or training, your body can recover faster. You can train more intensively without increasing the risk of the symptoms of overtraining.
Recommendation: 1 sachet directly after competition/training. 1 sachet is dissolved in 600-700 mls of water.
During competition and training: During physical work lasting more than 45 minutes, your intake of water should also contain carbohydrates.
Recommendation: 1 sachet Vitargo (CARBOLOADER or +ELECTROLYTE) per hour. 1 sachet is dissolved in 700-1000 mls of water.
Never add sugar or other kind of simple carbohydrates to your Vitargo drink.
RECEPIE FOR SUCCES
Football
The day before a match mix 1-2 sachets of Vitargo CARBOLOADER (6-7 dl water per sachet is about right) and drink it in between your normal mealtimes.
Before the warm-up, drink water. During warm-up and a match use 1 sachet of Vitargo mixed with a litre of water. Sip as often as possible and drinking a little more during half time.
Directly after the game, before you shower, you should drink a sachet of Vitargo (CARBOLOADER or Gainers Gold) mixed with ~7dl water. This should give the optimum start of glycogen (carbohydrate) re-loading. This is especially important when one has a busy match program, as well as at training camp and tournaments with short gaps in between matches. Vitargo helps you toward a positive energy balance, which amongst other things diminishes your susceptibility to infections and injuries.

Please note: If it is warm the body requires more liquid. Dilute the drink e.g.1, 1 litre water to 1 sachet (75g) Vitargo CARBOLOADER during a heavy workout when the temperature is above 25°C.
Ice hockey
The day before a match mix 1-2 sachets of Vitargo CARBOLOADER (6-7 dl water per sachet is about right) and drink in between your normal mealtimes.
If you are playing a match in the evening take Vitargo CARBOLOADER during the morning. During the warm-up and the match mix 2 sachets (150g) in 1.7 - 2 litre water. Drink little and often. Think about that you lose fluids during an ice hockey match. What ever is left in the bottle drink directly after the match before you shower, in order to recover as quickly as possible.
Distance racing (Triathlon, marathon, cycling, skiing etc..)
The last three days before a race you should drink 1-2 sachets of Vitargo CARBOLOADER a day mixed with 6-7 dl water in between mealtimes. Try to eat high carbohydrate foods, but not in big portions as you will build up good glycogen levels anyway. The night before a race you can try a little trick, that is to eat vanilla ice cream with an Energy Bar (made in Sweden by Energikakan AB). It might not sound very nice, but it will help getting your bowels working before the big race!
Do not eat a too large breakfast; avoid full corn products and anything else which can lead to problems during a race. If you are able to receive your own drinks during a race try Vitargo CARBOLOADER or +ELECTROLYTE. Vitargo passes through the stomach quickly and doesn't swish around in your stomach. Mix 1 sachet with about 8 dl water. Drink little and often.
After the race try and re-load as soon as possible by mixing 1 sachet Vitargo (CARBOLOADER or Gainers Gold) with 6-7dl water. If your glycogen stores are totally spent, then take the double amount. You are guaranteed a quick recovery and the risk of getting an infection or a cold are radically reduced.
