Seminar in Vietnam 12-18 of Nov.
Mr Stefan Bengtsson of Vitargo was invited by the distributor of Vitargo in Vietnam,
TOAN GIA CUONG TRADING CO. LTD (TGC Co Ltd) to present Vitargo at a seminar in Hanoi.
The audience was 35 medicine doctors, sports doctors, nutritionists and coaches.
Subject was sports nutrition and doping. The organizer was the National Institute of Sports Science.

Complete Football center, Opening 28th of October
Newcastle
Complete Football is a project run by Kenny Dalglish, (former player of Liverpool FC and the national team of Scotland), and Paul Bracewell, former player of Everton FC together with Sky Sports and FA. During a period of 5 years the plan is to build 20 centers with 6 "5-a-side"-pitches and one 11-a-side pitch. The main building has changing rooms, gym, restaurant
and a conference room.
Next year they start to build in London, Liverpool and Manchester.
At the opening they had a boys football tournament, seniors had a 5-a-side tournament where "the Legends"(with Dalglish, Bracewell and Lee Clark) managed to go to semi finals.

Attention! Be aware of false Vitargo
Vitargo® is a unique carbohydrate protected by patent and trademark. Nevertheless, it occurs nutritional supplements declaring Vitargo® in their ingredient list, without deliveries of Vitargo® starch to the manufacturer. This is an infringement of Swecarb´s intellectual property rights.
Additional, the consumer of the false Vitargo® will not experience the positive properties of the Vitargo® starch shown in clinical studies.
How do you as a consumer know for sure that the supplement contains Vitargo?
To be 100% sure we advice you to buy Vitargo® original products, with Swecarb AB as the manufacturer. Swecarb AB has also made a licence agreement with a few actors, producing high quality nutritional supplements under their own brand together with the Vitargo brand. These companies are listed under BUSINESS partners at the SALES page at vitargo.com.
Make your own test of pure carbohydrate powder products:
Prepare one portion, ~70g powder in 700ml of water (~ 20 degrees C).
Use a transparent bowl/glass.
Stir, whisk or shake vigorously for 1 minute and then let the solution rest for about 5 minutes:
1. If the solution is clear/transparent it is a low molecular weight carbohydrate ( for example maltodextrine, dextrose, sucrose)
2. If a thick layer of not dissolved powder is formed at the bottom of the bowl, it is most likely a native starch or a modified native starch. These starches are not digestible in present form and they do not dissolve in cold water. The starch is poorly absorbed by the gut and therefore of no benefit for the consumer.
We have analyzed some products claiming Waxy Corn Starch as an ingredient and they have all contained native starch. The declaration of these products and information given on the label indicates that the carbohydrate should be Vitargo®. This is a fraud.
3. If the powder dissolves but the solution is not transparent but opaque (a kind of ”milky” in its appearance), it has the characteristics of Vitargo.
If the powder also contains for example protein powder:
1.
Some proteins can give a ”milky” appearance to the solution. In this case, try to look for a layer of not dissolved powder in the bottom of the bowl.
2. If it forms a layer with not dissolved powder at the bottom, the starch is most likely an
ineffective native starch.

Spanish Bodybuilding Championship
The spanish Vitargo distributor Vital Body Life reports from the XXXIX Edition Spanish Bodybuilding Championship and Bodyshape 2007, which took place in Cádiz 27th-28th October.
The first picture shows the weight category of more than 75 kg, in one of the phases of the competition.
Vitargo was present as a sponsoring brand in hands of its Spanish distributor, due to the fact that Vitargo is considered as an essential product in the athlete's dietary preparation before and under competition.
Mr. Moisés Ruiz, General Manager of Vital Body Life, S.L. ,the
company which distributes Vitargo in Spain. He was in charge
of giving 1st and 2nd prices in the Spanish bodybuilding
Championship, category of more than 90 kg, one of the most
competitive ones.
First place was for Mr. Raúl Carrasco (right side) and
second place for Mr. Alberto Machado (left side).

New Clinical study on Vitargo
Post-exercise ingestion of a unique, high molecular weight glucose polymer solution improves performance during a subsequent bout of cycling exercise' Journal of Sports Sciences, 1 - 6
Published by Journal of Sports and Science showing that if you drink Vitargo as a recovery drink immediately after exercise you are able to have greater work output if you have to perform many times during a day, with short times of rest in between performances.
The study:
8 healthy men cycled to exhaustion, immediately after this, participants consumed a one- litre solution containing sugar-free flavoured water(control), 100g of a low molecular weight glucose polymer or 100g of a very high molecular weight glucose polymer(VITARGO), and rested on a bed for 2 hours. After recovery, a 15 minutes time-trial was performed on a cycle ergometer, during which work output was determined.
Result: Post-exercise ingestion of the very high molecular weight glucose polymer named Vitargo, resulted in faster and greater increases in blood glucose and serum insulin concentrations than the low molecular weight glucose polymer solution(typical for ordinary sports drinks). And most important, greater work output during the 15-minutes time trial than both the sugar-free flavoured water and the low molecular weight glucose polymer solutions.
These findings could be of practical importance for athletes wishing to optimize performance by facilitating rapid re-synthesis of the muscle glycogen store during recovery following prolonged sub-maximal exercise.

Resumé of 2006
During 2006 we introduced some new distributors worldwide, for example in Australia, Norway, Iceland, Holland, Greece and Latvia.
